Brief narrative

Moroccan authorities destroy Sahrawi homes on outskirts of occupied Dakhla

OCCUPIED DAKHLA, Western Sahara—The Moroccan occupation authorities have destroyed the homes of Sahrawis living in the Aswehil area, located 40 kilometers from the occupied city of Dakhla, on the 5th and 6th of September.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan occupation authorities had initiated extensive demolition operations and the destruction of the contents of Sahrawi homes, as well as the confiscation of their properties in the outskirts of occupied El Aaiun, Smara, and Boujdour. This is part of a systematic policy, with the city of Dakhla and its surroundings now targeted.

The Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad had previously condemned the Moroccan occupation’s confiscation of Sahrawi land and property, the destruction of their homes in the occupied part of Western Sahara, and the forced displacement of residents from their areas of habitation.
