Syria is going through a pivotal historical phase, marked by significant challenges and opportunities to build a more just and democratic future. Amid these transformations, key issues such as transitional justice and constitutional development emerge as fundamental pillars to ensuring Syrians’ rights and laying the groundwork for a new political system.
Recognizing the importance of this stage, we at The Day After are committed to closely monitoring political developments, conducting in-depth analyses, and actively contributing to ongoing discussions by offering insights and solutions that support positive change in Syria.
As part of our efforts to contribute effectively to the political process and the transitional phase our beloved country is experiencing today, The Day After’s Executive Director, Mr. Mutasem Al-Syoufi, presented a memorandum to the preparatory committee of the National Dialogue Conference. The memorandum outlined key points on transitional justice and constitutional development, focusing on essential issues that address past violations and establish strong foundations for a constitution that upholds democracy and human rights.
In parallel, our team has prepared a detailed analytical paper on the provisions of the constitutional declaration, assessing its suitability in laying the foundations for the desired democratic transition. The paper highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the declaration, providing clear recommendations on ways to improve it to serve the interests of all Syrians and establish a governance system that reflects the people’s aspirations for freedom and justice.
We at The Day After, remain committed to continuing our efforts, sharing our expertise and knowledge to support the political transition process, and ensuring justice and accountability. Our work is ongoing, and we will continue to stand behind all initiatives striving for a better future for all Syrians.
