The Habitat International Coalition’s Middle East/North Africa (MENA) program is seeking a part-time consultant to facilitate the regional segment of a cross-regional learning and advocacy project. The project will run through June 2024 and will demand approximately a half-time commitment of a learning and training specialist to make strategic decisions for an online learning program with civil society Member organizations in MENA, Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa on the subject of sustainable environment and climate justice.

The assignment will involve managing the pedagogical component of the project’s second iteration involving popular learning for advocacy. The first component covered “human rights related to land,” “feminist approaches to habitat-related human rights and development” and “multi-track advocacy.” Reports and recordings of the first iteration’s outputs are found online for public audiences. This iteration will involve two tracks: “sustainable environment and climate justice” and “social production of habitat” [AR].

Qualifications for the position:

Significant training and/or curriculum-development experience required;

Knowledge of current developments and trends in environment issues, climate change and climate justice required;

Excellent communications skills required;

Arabic-language proficiency preferred;

Familiarity with online meeting media;

English, French and/or Spanish-language ability is a plus;

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
